Classes

ATTENDANCE: Experienced and Intermediate students may attend classes in person or via Zoom. Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes are only offered in person.

SCHEDULE: Hula Maryland tries to accommodate as many schedules as possible. Most classes are offered on both a weekday evening and on the weekend. Class times are listed below. Students may attend either or both of their classes each week for the same monthly fee.

FEES: The monthly fee for individuals is $70 per month. Families of 2 or more individuals pay one monthly fee of $90.00 that covers all participating family members for all classes. For students only attending via Zoom, the fee remains $15 per month. Fees are due at the beginning of each month, payable via Paypal, cash or check.

WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME? Students with no previous hula experience start with our Beginner class. Students typically spend 4-6 months in the Beginner class, learning the basics of Hula Kahiko (ancient hula) and Hula ‘Auana (modern hula). Beginner students will progress to a more advanced class with teacher approval.

Dancers with previous hula experience will be evaluated by the teachers to determine which class is best for them to join. Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced classes are offered twice a week. Students in those classes may attend either or both class each week for the same fee.

If you miss the start of a session by 3 or more weeks, you will be asked to wait and join the next session.
